Foil Insulation

A Quick And Effective Upgrade

With energy costs spiraling out of control, people are more concerned than ever about properly insulating their home.  To properly do so, you need to consider all the features of your house.  For just about any dwelling, foil insulation is an important part of any insulation project.

One of the wonderful features of foil insulation is that it can be used for an incredible variety of jobs.  From top to bottom, inside and out, this kind of insulation, when properly used, will make a huge difference in the comfort level of your home and bottom line energy costs.

For a quick and effective update or upgrade to your attic, you might consider a double-sided aluminum radiant foil insulation.  Staple it to existing rafter studs and/or place it on top of your present insulation.  Installing insulation of this type is a quick and easy DIY job.

Single-sided or double-sided foil bubble insulation can be used for tons of other projects.  Prior to the completion of any construction project, you would be wise to install this kind of insulation before you put on any kind of home siding.  This will act as an additional layer of protection in combination with the interior foam or batt insulation.

Apply the same radiant or reflective foil insulation to basement walls or in and under crawl spaces.  This will help prevent the cold or heat that is under the home from creeping into the interior of your living space.

Floors, walls and attics probably present fairly obvious insulation needs, but there are some other features of your home that require equal attention.  An easy upgrade is to wrap your water heater with double-sided bubble foil insulation.  This will work wonders in the winter.  This type of foil insulation will greatly improve the heating efficiency of nearly any water heater.

Foil insulation is also a must for any garage door and even more important for garages that are attached to the home.  Buy a roll, cut to size according to the width of the door panel, and affix using adhesives or fasteners.

There are plenty of other uses for this kind of insulation.  From ducts to roofs to windows (seasonally) and more, foil insulation can really help get heating and cooling costs under control.  Get busy and get your home weather ready before more energy needlessly escapes your home and before more money needlessly escapes your bank account.
